I recently put two RFQs out for an interactive whiteboard and have received a number of quotes – thank you if you were one of them.
Today I had a site surveyors from the LEA assessing the power, fixing, projector move etc requirements. They were talking about installation during the summer holidays. I’ve also had the IT people set my projector / pc configuration so that it can display widescreen.
Therefore, I am hopeful that my initial requirement –
SMART Board 685 87-inch whiteboard / or equivalent will be approved for purchase.
My school does try to insist on SmartBoard but some classrooms do have other models so alternatives may be accepted.
The driving factors will be – Value for Money (considering the current economic climate and cheaper imports owing to £ being weaker than in previous years). Consideration will also be given to suppliers providing ADDITIONAL free of charge bundled software.
Therefore, I’d be grateful if you would quote your BEST PRICE for the above requirement. (Supply Only- together with the required wall mount fittings, standard software, etc and min 2yr warranty). Inclusive of all delivery charges or with delivery stated.
The best price I have for a non Smartboard 87” model is below £900 and the best price so far for a Smartboard 87” model is under £1300. However, this latter price was not obtained through the use of “IBC SchoolQuote”.
The budget I have been given lies between these two prices.
In addition, if you wish to quote for the next smallest size Smartboard please do so (see note below) if you are able to improve on a target price of £1000 – but please also include a FOC loan of a Floor Stand (on lockable wheels).
Any OM products should have the following features : finger and pen touch screen, digital ink via pens, compatible with dry-erase markers and easily cleaned with whiteboard cleaner.
Note – As previously stated, one of the assistant heads at my school has been waiting for over 9 months to place an order for an IAW owing to the uncertainty about installation dates. Hence, it is highly likely that a second IAW may be ordered from the same supplier but I expect this not to be a widescreen model.
